Fabric “capsule”:
I was a bit shocked to see the materials typically used in
the industry for the wine capsule: the top 3 materials are
Aluminum, Tin, and PVC plastic. None are environmentally
friendly. We researched all the possible options we could
find, but nothing seemed quite acceptable.
Ultimately, our search has ended in what we feel is a beautiful,
environmentally friendly, and absolutely unique solution:
vintage fabric. I am using fabric and re-purposing it for
its use atop the cork of our bottles. Some of the beautiful
patterns can be found throughout the site, just below “The
Making of Shoe”)
In what we hope will be
its final use, we would absolutely love to have people send
us back the fabric (write messages on it, please!!) so that
we can make a quilt.
